Priv.-Doz. Dr. Antje Hartmann
Hello!
I am Antje Hartmann, founder of Vetradiologie, a platform specializing in high-quality teleradiology, consultation, and continuing education in small animal diagnostic imaging.

I am Antje Hartmann, founder of Vetradiologie, a platform specializing in high-quality teleradiology, consultation, and continuing education in small animal diagnostic imaging.
Even during my studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen, I was fascinated by radiology, and a three-month externship at the University of Tennessee further deepened my enthusiasm for this field of veterinary medicine. What began as a passion soon became a clear professional path: After completing my studies and my doctoral degree in Giessen, I obtained my specialist qualification in radiology and other imaging modalities and completed a residency in diagnostic imaging—with training periods in Vienna, Newmarket (UK), and Bern, where I gained valuable experience.
Following the successful completion of my residency, I held several senior and leadership positions for many years, including as a senior veterinarian at the Small Animal Clinic of JLU Giessen, later at Tierklinik Hofheim, and at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern. In parallel, I began working in Teleradiologie as early as 2009—a field that has remained particularly close to my heart, as it allows me to make radiology more accessible, support colleagues, and share my expertise.
In 2016, I founded Vetradiologie with the aim of supporting fellow veterinarians through high-quality radiological reporting, consultation, and continuing education. Since 2023, my professional focus has been entirely on my own company.
I am a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI), a European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, a board-certified specialist in radiology and other imaging modalities, and a certified HD/ED evaluator.
What drives me? Quite simply: the joy of collaborating with colleagues, a deep passion for teaching and training, and the ambition to contribute to better treatment outcomes for our animal patients through precise and well-founded diagnostics.
Interpreting what a patient is suffering from based on a grayscale image—and using that insight to initiate a perfectly tailored therapy—still fascinates me just as much as it did during my student days.

I live in the beautiful Taunus region with my husband and our dogs, Scott, Jack and Morpheus. I love spending my free time outdoors, surrounded by nature. My favorite place is the North Sea, with its rugged climate, the vastness of the ocean, and the ever-changing rhythm of the tides.
In my spare time, I especially enjoy working with my dogs. I even obtained a hunting license for our dachshund so that I could train him in a species-appropriate way. This experience has sharpened my awareness of local wildlife and nature—I now walk through forests and fields with much more attentive eyes.
And whenever time allows, I quite literally dive in: scuba diving is another great passion of mine. I cherish the silence beneath the surface and the sense of slowing down it brings.
